Book Summary : Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill Part - I

Hey There,

I wanted to share my thoughts on the books I read recently.

I have been meaning to start reading for quite some time. So,finally, in March'21 I ordered this set of bestsellers from Amazon!! (https://amzn.to/3yjCoLF)

The set contains one of the best sellers of the world having more than a million copies sold!!!!

After reading them all for one time, I have started one of them for 2nd time!! And that is the first one in the image above(which you've already read the title of :P):  

Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill

First and foremost, as per the author, "this is for the people who want to accumulate riches and come out from their accustomed routine life". In this book, there are certain principles defined by him, based on his research of 20+ years on the lives of America's most successful people at that time!

Those principles are listed below(those are individual chapter in the book):

1. Desire
2. Faith
3. Autosuggestion
4. Specialized Knowledge
5. Imagination
6. Organized Planning
7. Decision
8. Persistence
9. Power of The Master Mind
10. The Mystery of Sex Transmutation
11. The Subconscious Mind
12. The Brain
13. The Sixth Sense

Now, these 13 principles, themselves, need their own posts to understand!! 

But, what I will do is, I will try to put them in my own understanding here!! :)

So, let's begin!!!

1. Desire

First Step towards riches is the Burning Desire to become one! As they say, where there is will, there's a way!! or जहाँ चाह हैं, वहा राह हैं।

This phenomena is best explained by the example of Edwin C. Barnes, who became the business associate of Thomas Edison, by first having a desire of the same. Of course, not everything happens by just wishing, BUT, the starting point of every achievement is a Desire....A BURNING DESIRE!!!

How Barns came down to the office of Mr Edison by freight train and later became one of the successful business associates the world has ever seen is described and one can imagine while reading all the events happening(at least I could picture them while reading! :))

One of  the quotes in this chapter which touched me is:

"EVERY FAILURE BRINGS WITH IT THE SEED OF AN EQUIVALENT SUCCESS"

There are certain practical steps defined in this chapter(page: 37), which if followed bring any desire.. burning desire..to get materialized as per the author!!

That's it for this blog..hope you got some idea about the first principle of this book!! :) Will try to continue posting my thoughts on each principal in my next blogs!!! :) :) :)
